The Movie "Precious"

I recently saw the movie "Precious". The acting was some of the most intense and poignant I have witnessed in some time. Before I share my thoughts and feelings on this timely movie, I would like to hear from you. In light of our vision - To see women and teen girls healed from the emotional scars of incest abuse and abortion - I would especially like to hear from those women and teen girls who have experienced issues that were depicted in the movie.

Let me hear your comments. My hope is that, during our 2 weeks of gather and posting comments, something will be said to encourage or inspire others.

Be IN courage.

Jesus Cares

I came across this poem that has served to bless me over the years, at different times and stages in my life. I pray you will be blessed and encouraged by its message.

Jesus Cares

When your heart is heavy and burdened
and you can't see your way through,
while you're going through trials and testings
And you don't know what to do.
There's a friend above who watches
and He cares what happens to you;
This wonderful one is Jesus
And He will see you through.

He cares when your heart is troubled
And the tears come falling fast;
He will come and heal your broken heart
And make it a thing of the past.
When the battle seems too great to win
And hard the enemy's blast,
Remember the battle is not yours but the Lord's
And against Him Satan can't last.

So keep your eyes upon Jesus
And your troubles on Him roll,
He will fight your battles for you
And His love to you unfold.
He is a great and wonderful God
And His love as pure as gold;
Put your trust in Him today
And you will find rest for your soul.

One Flaw In Women

I received this poem via email from a dear sister-friend and I had to share it here. It is a great reminder of how POWERFULLY AWESOME YOU ARE my precious sister!

One Flaw In Women

Women have strengths that amaze men.

They bear hardships and they carry burdens,

but they hold happiness, love and joy.

They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry..

They cry when they are happy

and laugh when they are nervous.

They fight for what they believe in.

They stand up to injustice.

They don't take "no" for an answer

when they believe there is a better solution.

They go without so their family can have.

They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel

and cheer when their friends get awards.

They are happy when they hear about

a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.

They grieve at the loss of a family member,

yet they are strong when they

think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss

can heal a broken heart.

Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.

They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you

to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what

makes the world keep turning.

They bring joy, hope and love.

They have compassion and ideas.

They give moral support to their

family and friends.

Women have vital things to say

and everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,

IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

Psalm 139:14 (The Message)

13-16 Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
you formed me in my mother's womb.
I thank you, High God—you're breathtaking!
Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
before I'd even lived one day.

Psalm 138:1-3 (The Message)

1-3 Thank you! Everything in me says "Thank you!" Angels listen as I sing my thanks.
I kneel in worship facing your holy temple
and say it again: "Thank you!"
Thank you for your love,
thank you for your faithfulness;
Most holy is your name,
most holy is your Word.
The moment I called out, you stepped in;
you made my life large with strength.

Psalm 46:5 (New International Version)

5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.

Psalm 27:14 (Amplified Bible)
14 Wait and hope for and expect the Lord; be brave and of good courage and let your heart be stout and enduring. Yes, wait for and hope for and expect the Lord.

Healed and Whole - A Poem to Encourage You.

HEALED AND WHOLE

One day I dug a little hole
And put my hurt inside,
I thought that I could just forget
I put it there to hide.
But that little hurt began to grow,
I covered it every day
I couldn't leave it and go on,
It seemed the price I had to pay.
My joy was gone, my heart was sad
Pain was all I knew.
My wounded soul enveloped me,
Loving seemed too hard to do.
One day while standing by my hole
I cried to God above
And said, "If You are really there--They say, You're a God of love!"
And just like that--He was right there
And just put His arms around me.
He wiped my tears, His hurting child
There was no safer place to be.
I told Him all about my hurt,
I opened up my heart,
He listened to each and every word,
To every sordid part.
I dug down deep and got my hurt
I brushed the dirt away
And placed it in the Master's hand
And healing came that day.
He took the blackness of my soul
And set my spirit free!
Something beautiful began to grow
Where the hurt used to be.
And when I look at what has grown
Out of my tears and pain
I remember every day to give my hurts to Him
And never bury them again!
